Facebook Advertising…Should I try this?

What is Facebook advertising and should we try it?  Does it work for small businesses?  It depends on what your goals are.

If your Facebook business page is just starting out and you want folks in your area to know about your store, what you offer and that you’re on Facebook; then Facebook Advertising is an inexpensive way to get noticed.

Advertising on Facebook let’s YOU control the amount you spend over the lifetime of the ad, or by setting daily limits.  Promoting a post works well.  You can identify who your target audience is and create a post targeted to this audience.  Select up to a 50 mile radius from the store, target keywords, demographics and more.

You decide how much you want to spend.

Does it work?  We’ve run successful advertising campaigns for less than $40 with a few of our clients, some attracting upwards of 100 new “likes” to their Facebook page over a month.  The success rate is typically better than traditional advertising.  Once folks find and like your page, they receive the updates posted on your Facebook Business page timeline, find out about specials and more.  Ultimately you make new customers.

If your Facebook Business page has more than 400 “likes”, this may not be for you.  If you want to generate up to 1,000 or more Facebook fans, this is an easy and inexpensive way to find more customers.
